Despite his remarkable success, Jaiswal (22) hails from modest beginnings. Growing up in Mumbai, he spent his early years living in a tent at Azad Maidan after his parents relocated to their village in Badohi, Uttar Pradesh, to support his cricketing aspirations. During this time, he even assisted a local vendor in selling pani puri at Azad Maidan.

Last Sunday, the talented left-handed opener made headlines by scoring a double century, his second in international cricket, which included a remarkable 12 sixes, contributing significantly to India’s commanding 434-run victory over England in the third Test held at Rajkot. Jaiswal had earlier showcased his prowess during the U-19 World Cup in 2020. His exceptional performance translated into a lucrative IPL bid of Rs 2.4 crore, and he further solidified his reputation by amassing 625 runs in 14 matches for the Rajasthan Royals in 2023.
